Affiliate Marketing

Another great ways to make money from the internet is through affiliate marketing.

As written by Deborah Ng, affiliate marketing is a revenue sharing venture between a website owner and an online merchant. The website owner will place advertisements on his websites to either help sell the merchant's products or to send potential customers to the merchant's website, all in exchange for a share of the profits.

There are three ways to earn money through affiliate marketing:

• Pay Per Click — Every time a potential customer leaves the affiliate website by "clicking" on the link leading to the merchant's website, a certain amount of money is deposited in the affiliate's account. This amount can be pennies or dollars depending on the product and amount of the commission.

• Pay Per Sale — Every time a sale is made as a result of advertising on the affiliate's website, a percentage, or commission, is deposited into the affiliate's account.

• Pay Per Lead — Every time a potential client registers at the merchant's website as a result of the advertisement on the affiliate's account, a previously determined amount is deposited into the affiliate's account.

For many website owners, this is a great way to earn some extra money without actually having to "do" anything. All it involves is placing an ad on the affiliate's website. There's no selling or promotion of any kind. The affiliate can just sit back and wait for the profits to roll in.

It's also beneficial to the merchant. By placing affiliate marketing advertising on websites all over the Internet, he has free advertising and doesn't need to do much selling on his own. The more websites a merchant is affiliated with, the more exposure his products get, and all he has to do is allow ads for his products to appear on someone else's website.

While affiliate marketing has its benefits, there are also a few cons. For instance, the merchant has to share the profits with an outside party. If an affiliate uses unsavory means to bring customers to his website and sell the merchant's products, the merchant will also have to contend with doing a little damage control on his reputation.

The affiliate has to do thorough research on the merchant before agreeing to affiliation. To not do so can mean ending up with a merchant who refuses to pay commission fees or packs up his business and moves on without informing any of his affiliates. In my last posting, I mentioned about making money without running a business through Google Adsense. If you really understand what I had wrote there, you actually need to a website or blog to place the ads. Without that, Adsense is useless to you...

Well, here is another 'make-money-without-business' concept that I would like to share. It is called a Paid-To-Click (PTC) programme. Frankly speaking, I personally think this programme is most recommended to those who just love surfing for fun! While surfing, they can join this programme and make money online. This programme concept is based on how many advertisements you click to visit websites (and stay for about 30 seconds on that site). The more you clicks, the more money you can earn through the programme. Where is this money come from? Well, there are some webmasters out there who paid hard cash to get as many traffics as they can to their websites. And this Paid-To-Click programme is doing what those webmaster had paid, that is getting as much traffic as it can - through you. And they paid you from the money that those webmasters had paid. But not 100%, lah!

Sounds simple, is it? Of course, it is simple - like having lunch! No need to learn like Adsense. The only things that you need to have are:

1. Your email address.


2. Your PayPal or E-Gold account (since most of this programme will pay you through this merchant account, only).

To make things interesting, these Paid-To-Click programmes allow you to get referrals. And you get 100% commission for every referral click on their ads.

Let us do a simple maths here:

• You join 10 Paid-To-Click programmes.


• You click 10 ads daily for each Paid-To-Click programmes.


• Each ads click worth $0.01.

You earn = 10 Paid-To-Click programmes x 10 daily ads x $0.01
= $1.00 a day!

Now, let's say you got 10 referrals for each Paid-To-Click programmes and each of them do the same as you (10 Paid-To-Click programmes x 10 daily ads x $0.01)
You earn = 10 Paid-To-Click programmes x 10 daily ads x $0.01 x 10 referrals
= $10.00 + $1.00 (your own earning)
= $11.00 a day!

That was an easy money, for a day. Imagine how much you can earn if you join more Paid-To-Click programmes and got more referrals? Say, 20 Paid-To-Click programmes and 20 referrals each? $42.00 a day, is it? That is $294.00 a week. Or approximately $1,176.00 a month!

Google Adsense

Have you heard of Google Adsense? This is one way that i found out can generate easy money on the internet without even running a business!

Google Adsense is an advertisement programme, run by Google. They will pay you for every click (pay-per-click, PPC) that bring traffic to their clients. In other words, Google will pay you if the traffic clicked the Google Adsense advertisement to left your website and transfered to the websites which have been clicked. The website owner advertised on Adsense programme is Google's clients.

Google Adword is for the advertisers. For those who wants to advertise on Google Adsense, you have to pay a certain amount for traffic to visit your website through Adsense programme. This is Google Adword. If Google Adword didn't exist, there is no Google Adsense.

You will be paid based on the "Pay-per-Click" method. Google will only starts pay you after someone click the advertisement. No click, of course you don't get paid. Actually, they pay you from the profit they made from advertisers through Google Adword. Initially, Google puts these advertisements on their websites only. If you have noticed, everytime you search through Google search box at their website, some of the search results will appeared in a box entitled "Sponsored Links". Those are the paid advertisements where the advertiser will paid a certain amount for every click they get. However, with the Adsense programme, Google have opened the advertisement space for every website owner. And the best part is, the website owner will get paid if visitors clicked those advertisements! However, you will not receive a full 100% payment from Google. They have divided the payment from advertiser through Adword programme. The exact percentage is unknown. It might be 40-60, or maybe 30-70 or even 20-80 where, 20% for Google and 80% for you or otherwise. This is only my estimation. Google will not disclosed the real percentage.

However, in short, when each of your visitor clicked the Adsense advertisement on your website - you will get paid! More clicks you received, more money you will get...

It looked easy but it is not. Frankly speaking, once you heard about this Adsense programme and immediately want to start it, I am guaranteed you will never succeed. Maybe you will not even get through the Adsense account application! To be successful, you have to learn more about Adsense. As a result, you have to spend lots of time to make easy money through internet. Don't be afraid, Malaysian! I got something that can help you to understand the whole Adsense process in a simple way. What is the simplest business that a person can run on the internet? A business that can be setup within an hour, not much hassle (or maybe not at all?), doesn't need much maintenance (nowadays, everything can be run auto-pilot) and the most important; it generates profitable income?

Do you agree with me if I say, "Selling Ebook"? Some might agree, some might not. If you have any brilliant idea than this, please share.

There are lots of ebooks on sale on the internet. Almost in any subject. But I noticed that the most popular subject people loved to buy and writers loved to sell is the 'how-to-make-money' subject! After all, it's about money then. Who don't like money?

How to sell ebook? The answer is: get or create the product, first. If you are not a writer, then sell other people products. But, make sure you have the resale rights to do it. Otherwise, you might be in trouble with the original author. Some of the ebooks sold on the internet are resale rights products. However, there are also free downloadable ebooks out there that have resale rights too! Isn't that a great news to all the newbies? You don't have to buy or write anything, you can have the product - FREE!

Next, you need a space to business. In simple word, you need a site. If you have zero-knowledge on how to build a website (like me), do like what I am doing now. Use a free blog. Sell your products through a blog. But if you are knowledgeable on building a website, then I guess you should have knew what to do - find a web hosting (i.e: Exabytes, ServerFreak, etc), develop the web, etc...

Then, you need to determine your payment option. Some of us prefer to sign up a merchant account like PayPal, 2CheckOut, etc. With this option, you can deliver the product to your customer automatically (I did mentioned about auto-pilot before). Your mechant account will do everything, from taking the order, process your customer credits and send the product to them online (Ebook is a digital product, it can be downloaded straight to customer hard-drive). In my place, some prefer to use local internet-banking. With this option, after getting the order, you check your bank account activities to verify your customer payment before you deliver the product to them with your own delivery option (email the download link or courier a CD). Up to you...

Finally, which is the most important one: promote your business! You are not running a physical business like opening a shop by the street. People will notice your shop when they pass by the street everyday but on the internet, no one knows you are running a business. There are millions (maybe billions?) of websites on the internet. How on earth will anyone find your site without you promote it yourself? There are lots of ways to promote your site. You just have to choose which one you are comfortable with. Emails, social networks, business social networks, online advertisements like AdWords, AdBrite (Google competitor?), etc.

Weight Management

While having lunch at my colleague place last month, he introduced me to a great weight-management programme by Herbalife. It's not a diet programme, no excessive exercises required, no swallowing pills... just drink some tasty milk shakes and tea! Sounds simple, eh?

It's all started when he brought a-kind-of "weighing machine" out from his room. He asked for my age and height. After jotting it down on a form, I was required to step on the machine. "Okay, you wanna check my weight", I assumed. After the machine digitally determined my weight, he started playing around with the machine by pressing some buttons. He recorded some datas , filled them into the same form and showed me the results. To my surprise, that was not just an ordinary weighing machine! From just taking my weight, he somehow managed to determine my Body Fat Range, % of Body Water Range, Muscle Mass, Physique Ratings, Basal Metabolic Age, Bone Mass and my Visceral Fat.

Based from the results, he informed me that:

1. From my age and height, my Body Fat Range was in category medium (which is between healthy and obese). In simple term, I'm a bit over-weight.
   
2. My Body Water Index was slightly less than average. He told me to drink a lot of water, daily.
   
3. My Physique Rating is slightly over than average. He asked me to do a bit of exercise.
   
4. And finally (which disturbed me a bit), my body Metabolic Rate is not working to my age. Instead, it decreased as I am 5 years more older!
   

Now what should I do? He introduced me to Herbalife weight management package which contains a can of strawberry-flavoured milkshake, a can of protein powder and a can of lemon & hibiscus mix tea. And he only advised me to take a glass of each can everyday. Not that difficult, I guessed.

Well, that was about two (2) weeks ago. Today, unbelievably I had lost three (3) kgs, didn't feel hungry for the whole working hours and actively ready for any action after work. No fatigue or tiredness. In short, I feel great the whole day... and I still enjoyed all the meals that I loved to have. No need to diet or skipping meals. No more feeling sleepy at work or while in the LRT. In fact, I still have lots of energy to play futsal after long hours of work!

Realising the changes in me, and with the helps of my interest on the programme... he invited me to join his Herbalife's business. Cool! He explained to me the working plans and to my surprise (again!), he showed me how easily I can make extra monthly income of 5,000! Wow, I never thought that being a bit over-weight myself could landed me into a business! Maybe my lucky day, then? Being an opportunist in business, I agreed straight away with his proposal.

If you are reading this and REALLY, REALLY SERIOUS in managing your body nutrition; allows us to help you achieve your dreams. And we will be happy to assist you to run your own business. But, if you are only interested in doing the business instead of the weight-management programme, please think again. You can't go far without experiencing the programme yourself. Customers will look at our appearance first before they even think of our business. Doesn't it looks odd that an over-weight person is doing business about weight management? If you think you are fit enough to avoid the programme, how will you run the business without proofing your customer that the programme is effective? The programme is not just for weight loss purpose. It was also designed for weight gain and maintaining ideal weight. I'm sure we can fit into one of those purposes. That's why we strongly suggest you to experience the programme and show your customer what will they gain from the programme. Seeing is believing! Impressed your customer with your own great shape appearance.

Run a business in a proper way... and you will lead to a prosperous way.

Online Business

Most of us love to do business. Whether it is small or big, as long as it generates profit, we love it! Each of us have our own way to do it... and I love to do it online.

This morning, I received an email from my buddy inviting me to join a social network. Well, almost every internet user joins at least an online social network. The famous networks available are like Facebook, Friendster, Multiply, MySpace, Stickam, Windows Live Spaces (formerly MSN Spaces), Yahoo! 360, and many more. Check out the whole lot of social networks here. However, I haven't reply the invitation yet because I have this doubt in mind... CAN I MAKE A BUSINESS FROM IT?

Let's take a look on what these social networks can offer us. Everyone agrees that we can communicate with lots of people from everywhere in this world, through social network. But, what do we really talk about? I'm wondering has anybody ever talk about how beautiful your country and your foreign friends should visit your country at least once in their lifetime? I hope there were... if you did that and your foreign friends really came and visit your country, don't you feel proud that you have promoted your own country (in your own way) because tourism industry really profits your country.

Err... wait a minute. I said profits your country, eh? Hmm... back to the point, how can we make profitable business from this? To be precise: from joining the social networks? We actually can do lots of business from that, to be frank. Even the famous Malaysian Internet Millionaire, Dr. Irfan Khairi made some businesses with foreigners who visit Malaysia... well, he actually made business before those foreigners reached Malaysia, frankly. He sold Malaysian maps to them! Don't you think your foreign friends will appreciate you on how much you have saved their time by planning their vacation from their home (and not after reached your country), with all the maps and tourist guides made available by you? They will now have more time to spend visiting the all the interesting places, as planned.

So, you got the idea? That was one of the profitable business that we can make through those online social networks. Thanks to Dr. Irfan for his idea, at least he did opened our eyes... You can think of other business that you can profit from your foreign visitor(s) but if you can't, it is not a crime to follow what he had done. I don't see that as copycat, I rather called it an inspiration.

How to sell maps to your foreign friends? That's easy, just buy from the bookstores or even from the petrol stations. Courier to them and collect your pay. Put your own price (make sure it is a profitable price!). You set your own payment method. Or maybe you can buy online from sites that selling physical maps. I have tried this and found this website. Actually, this website were targeting the foreigners out there as their customers, but you can still buy from them. No harm done! And when you receive your maps, sell it to your foreign social network friends to make your own profit!
